Welcome to Texas Panhandle Mental Health and Mental
Retardation (TPMHMR). We are part of the Texas Community
MHMR Center system and are governed by a local Board
of Trustees representing the citizens of the upper
twenty-one counties of the Texas Panhandle. The primary
populations that we serve are individuals with severe
mental illness, mental retardation and children with
developmental delays. We provide quality services
to over five thousand individuals and their families
each year. Clients and staff decide together on individual
plans of care that can include a wide array of available
services such as assessment, case management, medication
and a variety of other treatment and support services.
At the heart of TPMHMR’s work is our mission:
To respond to the diverse needs of all people
with mental illness and mental retardation by creating
an accessible system of services which supports
individual choices and results in lives of dignity
and independence.
This mission serves as our cornerstone as we strive
daily to fulfill our vision of Making Lives Better.
On behalf of our volunteers, staff and Board of
Trustees welcome to Texas Panhandle Mental Health
Mental Retardation.
