Responsible for planning and enforcing a program of activities for the day program including music, exercise, verbal building skills, small and large motor skill building; as well as any activities that will help to maintain and/or build mental functions for the clients in their care. Position also calls for the implementation of daily scheduled training programs and required documentation for assigned caseloads. Requires one on one care for assigned clients. Performs moderately complex habilitation therapy work. Work involves teaching and training clients with mental impairments. Works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. The TTI, i.e. job coach, assists in training of the individuals placed in competitive employment through building natural supports at the work site and providing job skill remediation for the individual to assist them in meeting the employers’ expectations. Provide community living support to assigned caseload which includes support, training, assessment and transportation. Completes necessary documentation within requested timelines. Work schedule varies upon client need. Qualifications: Valid Texas Drivers license. Must be insurable under agency vehicle policy. High School diploma / GED. Preferred qualifications: Experience in providing daily supervision and assistance to residents served. Experience performing housekeeping duties; record keeping and documentation; ordering and inventorying food and supplies; working with special diets, menu substitutions and meal preparation. Experience transporting individuals; interpersonal skills for positive interaction with individuals and staff; ability to communicate effectively – oral and written; necessary to read, understand and act upon written material.
