At the Texas Panhandle MHMR Partial Hospitalization Program, we believe in the value of our citizens.

We are pleased to offer this partial hospitalization program to individuals who are Medicare eligible. The Texas Panhandle MHMR Partial Hospitalization Program is designed to keep persons out of in-patient hospital care. We are committed to helping patients confidently re-integrate back into the community and daily life. We provide a warm home-like environment to assist clients in coping with changes in life such as aging, loneliness, loss of a loved one, anxiety, memory problems and adjusting to physical changes. The PHP specializes in the treatment of psychiatric and emotional disorders and other problems that may be chronic in nature.
PROGRAM FOCUS
The Texas Panhandle MHMR Partial Hospitalization Program is designed for individuals who require intensive therapeutic intervention, but do not require inpatient care.

Clients are actively involved in a full day of structured therapies designed to improve the individual’s symptoms and functional level and to prevent relapse of hospitalization.

Monitoring of medications and symptoms daily.

Arrangements are made for labs and necessary ancillary studies.

Treatment of co-morbid conditions is coordinated with attending specialist physicians (Common co-morbid conditions include: post-surgical, post-stroke, multiple medications, delirium, prescription substance use, Parkinson's, diabetes).

SERVICES INCLUDE

Free Initial-evaluation screening.

Experienced interdisciplinary team providing comprehensive treatment, including a Medical Director, registered nurses, clinical therapists, mental health technicians, and the client’s primary care physician.

Group therapy sessions focusing on illness management, skills training to optimize mental health and physical functioning, as well as medication management, to name just a few.

In-house therapy services provided also include physical therapy, art therapy, and music therapy.

Primary care physician involvement is encouraged, and the physician is apprised of client progress.

Transportation in the Amarillo/Canyon area is provided.

Lunch and snacks are provided.
COST OF SERVICES
Funding for the Texas Panhandle MHMR Partial Hospitalization Program comes primarily through Medicare and relies on insurance along with the individual or families’ ability to pay based on income.

REFERRALS
Physicians, family, or friends may make referrals. The person seeking treatment can also self-refer. Any client with Medicare coverage is eligible for admission.
